Hey guys!
Anyway, thanks for the birthday wishes people! I was overwhelmed by the number of wishes I got on Facebook! I was truly touched to know that so many people still remember me after leaving Malaysia last September…Haha…Here we go, me and my jokes…Anyway, thanks peeps!
Thanks also to those who did what they could to celebrate my birthday – you guys rock! To Yan Yu, Jenny, Shue Li, Leo, Anna and Aiman, thanks for the food treat! And thanks also for the cake you guys made for me - especially to Yan Yu, who woke up early that day to actually go shopping and get the ingredients for the cake…Thanks loads! Although I kinda accidentally figured out about the cake – Sorry Yan Yu! I really didn’t mean to read that SMS! – I still am touched…I would have been genuinely surprised if I hadn’t read that SMS as I wasn’t expecting a birthday cake…Haha…The cake was nice as well! Thanks again! And thanks to Delu and Kavitha for the birthday gifts!
And thanks to Nantha, Anan, Mohan, Yoke Teng, Rayjiv, Thanam, Yamunaa, Usha, Sasi, Uma and Anna for the surprise party…Well, it wasn’t exactly a surprise since Nantha was behaving so weirdly, but I didn’t expect the food and cake…Honestly, I just thought you guys were waiting to ambush me with the “cocktail” we usually mix for the birthday boy/gal…Haha…But seriously, thanks for taking time off your revisions to cook and celebrate for me…Nantha, next time don’t say you’re a vegetarian on Saturdays and then say that you wanna go have your dinner at Rostik – ANYONE would find that weird…Haha…Anan, good acting…I understand how hard it must have been for you as I’m your roommate…Not easy to plan and be involved in the birthday preparations of your roommate…And thanks to those who mixed that “cocktail” that Uma poured on me…This is my second “interesting” birthday – my first was in national service when I turned 18, when I was thrown into a huge water tank-thingy…Haha...Thanks again to all of you! And the cake was really good!
Thanks for the SMSes from Malaysia as well – Sarvesh, that was really good…I couldn’t help but to laugh at your message, man…Haha…And thanks to my parents and sisters who wished me sharp at midnight (Malaysian time!)…Veno, I’m really, really happy with your PMR results…I expected it though…Haha…I knew you would get 7As…Anyway, all the best – you’re in Form 4 now, and things will look slightly different from your lower secondary subjects…Just do what you do always and you’ll do great…And just because you got a new phone, don’t get hooked on to it all the time, OK? And Menaha, enjoy while you can…At least you get to relax after SPM while waiting for your results – I had to go to national service! Haha…Good luck with your results, OK! Thanks to my aunt for wishing me as well – miss throwing things at you…Haha…
I can’t believe I’m actually 20 now…At times, it feels like nothing, but at times it is like “Wow, you’re not part of that “something-teen” group of age anymore!” Haha...
Anyway, back to my life here…Well, classes are practically over, with just one lecture left to attend…I’ve got my Chemistry exam on January 27…Trying to study for it but I’ve been failing miserably so far…Haha…Hopefully I’ll catch up on time for the exam…The weather is getting colder – it was -21 degrees Celcius two days ago…But it keeps dropping and increasing, so it isn’t exactly that cold all the time…
Well, that’s about it for now…Hein Yew, hope you enjoyed your first day back into the students’ r world…And Siang Hang, your IB results are fantastic – 43/45 is amazing dude…Well done! Petronas shouldn’t hesitate to send you to Oxford or Cambridge…Haha…
Till my next update, adios!

Hey guys!
I’m not gonna bother apologizing for not updating sooner as lately too many of my blog updates seem to start with “sorry for the late update!” Haha…
Anyway, as I may have mentioned in an earlier update, last weekend was a pretty busy weekend for me as I had to perform on both Saturday and Sunday…Let me talk about Sunday first, as that was a pretty boring event…Haha…
So we were told that we were to dance in a “Cultural Concert” at another university nearby…And for that reason, the four of us – Kavitha, Geetha, Nantha and myself! – dragged ourselves out of bed early, when most of the human civilization in our hostel were still asleep, probably dreaming about some fantasy or God knows what else…But when we got there, along with Anna Purani, who was doing a traditional Indian solo dance, the Chinese dance group – they consisted of Jenny, Yan Yu, Yun Ci, Ru Min, Shelly, Zi Yan and Raymond! – and Kok King, who was gonna be singing at the “concert”, we were “mildly” surprised at how very “cultural” the “concert” was…
MOST of the performances were basically wu shu demonstrations, along with tae kwon do! And there were seriously elderly people doing qi gong! Can you imagine just how odd our group would have looked with our performances – a traditional Indian dance, a modern Indian dance, a traditional Chinese dance and a solo vocal act! Man, there must have been some serious miscommunication going around prior to that event…How very “concert-y” the whole event was…Haha…
Let’s get back to Saturday night…Well, it was Malaysian Nite, and I was suddenly charged with being the “errand boy” for the seniors who were handling the audio and video stuff…Haha…But I spent most of the night doing nothing much actually, as the seniors themselves did most of the work…But sitting next to them gave me an advantage, as the results for the various awards presented that night came first to these guys whom I was sitting with, and thus I knew the results before most of the others…And certain nominations as well…At one point, Kok King came and took several pictures of me…He told me my “jippa” – traditional male wear for Indians! – looked nice and stuff like that…Little did I know that the truth was so different…
As I said earlier, I was sitting with the guys handling the multimedia stuff so I got a huge shock when I saw that the pictures Kok King took were now included in the presentation, under the heading of “Best Dressed Cultural Male – Nominations”! What the heck! It was so darn embarrassing, and when my picture was shown, people were laughing and my Indian buddies shouted out “Vijay!” Oh, I have forgotten to tell you people back at home – I’ve got a new name here – Vijay…Haha…
Damn, that was embarrassing…And of course, I didn’t win – haha! – but at least I do get to say that I was nominated…Haha…
As for my dance, I screwed up…Well, actually the mistake was only obvious to those who danced with me and a few others, as most people didn’t realize that something was wrong…So I didn’t exactly screw up, but in a way, it was a screw up, though a very minor one that was covered up very easily…It was embarrassing though…We were supposed to form two lines that consisted of guys and girls – separately! – but I ended up standing with the girls! Haha…But it wasn’t so obvious to most of the audience so I guess it wasn’t so bad…And yeah, I did the whole “Krishna” pose and got another round of “Vijay”…Haha…
On the whole, it was an interesting event, though I wouldn’t say it was spectacular…I expected more, as seniors have spoken to me about how good the previous Malaysian Nite celebrations were, and I guess this just didn’t quite reach that, but I dunno, that’s just my two cents…Oh, and the Malaysian Ambassador to Russia was the guest-of-honour, and I guess that was something different as I’ve been told that he usually doesn’t turn up for any event…
Still no snow yet, although the temperature is now approaching -10 degrees Celcius…Something is apparently really wrong this winter, as usually by now the snow would be knee-deep…Weather is getting really cold, nevertheless, and I’ve got the end of semester tests to study for to get my "zachoots" and my first exam – General Chemistry! – is in January…Things are gonna get really hectic, I guess…Actually, it already has...Haha...
And that’s it for now…Take care, everyone!

To all the directors and producers of movies that involve unjustified and horrible violence against humans – in other words, killing people for the fun of it by sawing them up while they’re still alive or butchering them like they’re animals and actually enjoy watching these people scream in pain! - here is what I have to say to you – go f*** yourselves…
What on Earth are you trying to accomplish by making such movies? Who are you trying to impress? Who are you trying to make happy? Which part of humanity have you lost? Yes, it is just a movie but if you’re capable of making such movies available to the general population, then can the brutal killers out there be blamed completely for their “deeds”? For all we know, they may have even taken an idea or two from these sub-standard movies on how to torture and scare the living daylight out of people…It’s so sickening and revolting to watch these things happen to people, and it doesn’t make a hell lot of a difference just because it is happening in a movie…If you’re capable of making up such disgusting acts in the movies, the only difference that there is between you people and the actual murderers out there is that you don’t actually practice your “wonderful ideas” on people, whilst murderers do…
Sorry to such movie-lovers – in fact, a very close friend of mine loves such movies as well! – but this is my own personal opinion…I’m not close-minded but I just don’t see the fun in seeing people get chopped up…That’s all…
And to you people who make such movies – have a great time knowing that you may have just helped in making some psychopath out there become a brutal killer by planting ideas on how to murder people in disgusting and sickening ways…

About a week or so ago, someone whom I got to know for a brief period of time passed away...Despite only knowing here for a couple of weeks, I enjoyed talking to her as she was a very nice, cheerful and jovial lady, not to mention pretty helpful...But I had known her husband for about several years as he was my primary school teacher...By an odd twist of fate, I met his wife 7 years after the last time I saw my teacher...
Mr. Vincent, my condolences to you...I'm dreadfully sorry for your loss...I know how devastated you might be but I hope you stay strong...Rest assured that she is missed by many students here in Russia - she has been a friend to many...She has left many people here with pleasant memories...I admit, I'm barely an adult so who am I to console you but I guess I felt obligated to say something and to offer you some words of comfort...
Ms. Roline, you will be sorely missed...But the memories you gave us all will keep us strong - will keep us going...

Sorry for the serious lack of updates – life here was – still is! – so darn busy in the past month that I just couldn’t take time off to write updates – I didn’t even get enough sleep most of the time…
Anyway, let’s talk about the dance that a few friends and I performed together for the Diwali Nite celebrations – on the whole, I would say the dance was good, as that was also what people generally said…But of course, people don’t usually tell you that you suck even if you do so yeah, trying not to get over the moon over here…Haha…But we – by we, I mean my co-dancers, who are Nantha, Geetha and Kavitha! – performed again for the International Students’ Nite upon request from the Russian Department…It was all pretty interesting, as we got to see some pretty “naughty” performances as well, which I’m pretty sure Nantha enjoyed the most – he just couldn’t sit still…Haha…By the way, Nantha is a fifth year student – the president of the Malaysian Indian Students’ Association! – whilst Kavitha and Geetha are my batchmates…
And here I was thinking that my dancing days were over when out of the blue came another request to perform at another university ‘s International Students’ Nite…Haha…That’s on December 14…And I’ll be performing also on December 13 for my academy’s Malaysian Nite…This time, it won’t be a modern Indian dance as before but a traditional one – dunno if you guys have heard of it but its called “Kollatam”, a dance where the people involved have moderate length sticks that they dance with…Kinda looking forward to that as I performed the same dance back during my brief stint in national service…I’ll be dancing with another friend, Jenny…She’s Chinese by the way…
Classes are progressing just fine though its kinda tiring…Winter is finally here – I just had my first snow fight a couple of days back with friends! Haha…But winter just started and its only like -3 degrees Celcius at times…The peak will be in January – looks like I’ll be having a freezing cold birthday here…Haha…Back to our classes – why is it tiring? Well, firstly there are so many tests…Sometimes it’s almost daily…It’s so darn irritating but I guess it’s to be expected especially when you’re learning how to save lives…Haha…And secondly, the duration of the classes are seriously long…I have three lectures and a Physics practical class on Wednesday! And the practical class is like three hours long! And its right after the Physics lecture, which is almost two hours! Meaning five hours of Physics – people who know me well would know just how much I “love” that stupid subject!
Life after class is good though…I’m pretty close with the Indians here, especially Nantha, Anan, Shanjif, Sarves, Kanitha, Sasi, Shalini and Usha…None of them are from my batch; they’re all seniors actually…Sometimes some of us cook together, though most of the time I don’t do the cooking - my culinary skills aren’t exactly legendary, you know…Haha…Apart from them, I’m pretty close with some of my batchmates as well, like Yun Ci, Yan Yu, Jenny, Shelly, Rahman, Anna and Soo Yin (she’s not from my batch – she’s a third year student!)…
Of course, I’m not exactly having the time of my life here…So much stuff has happened, so much drama that I thought would never happen – well, at least not involving me! But yeah, it has all been so “interesting” – I kinda feel like I’m in my national service and post-national service days again…Yes, those kinda drama…Haha…
Anyway, that’s all for now…I’ll try to upload pictures when I’m free – and update more frequently as well…Haha…I really miss you folks in Malaysia though - my “sai lou” Hein Yew (miss the SMS-ing! Haha!), Hui Ling, Sangeetha, Natalie, Natasha, Wai Li and Fui Wei…Miss you too, Jean – hope you’re doing great in Manchester! And yes, you too Andrew – hope Bath isn’t running amok with you there! Haha…And my “ex-wife” Esther – WE ALL miss you – I really miss talking to you and waiting for two years before we all can hear from you again is gonna be hard but we will always think about you – make sure you contact us once you’re back from Taiwan – all the best with your religious studies!
Adios peeps!
